About business cards

Business cards still close meetings. They sit in the wallet, get pulled out at the bar, and tell the recipient something about how seriously you take your craft. We treat them as a finishing job, not a commodity print.

Most jobs go through digital press for speed and accuracy on short runs. We move to offset above about 1,000 units when the per-card cost crosses over and offset finishes pay off. Specialty work (foil, letterpress, soft-touch, edge paint, duplex stocks up to 600 gsm) is sourced through Auckland trade-finishing partners we have worked with for years.

Send the brief and the artwork. We will quote promptly with the run options that suit it.

Business Cards FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

How much does business card printing cost in Auckland?
Pricing depends on stock, finish, and run length. As a guide, 250 standard double-sided digital cards on 350 gsm silk land around $80 to $120 ex-GST. Soft-touch laminated 350 gsm cards from $130. Foil-stamped 600 gsm duplex cards from $280. Send the spec and we will quote promptly.
What file should I send (PDF, AI, with bleed)?
Press-ready PDF is preferred, with 3 mm bleed on all sides, 5 mm safe area inside the trim, fonts outlined, CMYK colour, and raster images at 300 dpi. AI or packaged InDesign also accepted. If your supplied file is missing bleed or fonts, we will flag it and either fix it for a small charge or send it back for correction before press.
Digital or offset, which is right for my run?
Under about 1,000 cards, digital is faster and the per-card cost is lower. Above 1,000 (especially with Pantone matching, large solid colour areas, or specialty stocks), offset wins on price and on colour accuracy. We will quote both where it is close.
Can you do soft-touch, foil, or spot UV?
Yes. Soft-touch lamination is our most-requested premium finish (matt feel, peach-skin texture). Spot UV adds a glossy raised area over selected artwork. Foil stamp is hot-stamped metallic in gold, silver, copper, or a custom pigment. We can combine all three on the same card.
How fast is turnaround on business cards?
Standard digital cards 1 to 3 working days from artwork approval. Lamination adds 1 to 2 days. Specialty finishes (foil, letterpress, edge paint) add 5 to 7 days because they go through finishing partners. Tell us the deadline up front and we will tell you what is achievable.
